About Us

Henlow Hurricanes Youth FC is a growing community football club run by volunteers with the sole purpose to offer football in a fun and safe learning environment for the children of Henlow in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. 

Henlow Hurricanes Youth FC is based in Henlow, Bedfordshire and we are fortunate to be able to use the MUGA pitches of local schools for training during the winter months. 

From the season 2024/25 we have teams in the following age groups;

U12, U13, U14, U15, U18 and an adult team. 

We are continuing to increase the number of teams and age range as demand arises, provided we have qualified and suitable coaches for any new teams. 

Whilst being entirely run by volunteers, we are registered with the FA.  We adhere to several rules and policies laid down by The FA. 

Our coaches:  

1. Must pass an enhanced DBS check (renewed every 3 years)
2. Have completed the FA's " EE Playmaker Course" 
3. Have completed the FA's "Introduction to Coaching Football" course as a minimum requirement. This course incorporates:

• An "Introduction to First Aid in Football" certification (renewed every 3 years)
• A "Safeguarding Children" certification (renewed every 3 years)

Our assistant coaches:  

1. Must pass an enhanced DBS check (renewed every 3 years)
2. Have completed the FA's " EE Playmaker Course" as a minimum requirement or are in the process of completing this course.
3. Have a valid Safeguarding certification (renewed every 3 years)

As a football club Child Welfare is of paramount importance at all times. 

We have 2 designated Club Welfare Officers who are responsible for ensuring that children who play for Henlow Hurricanes can play football in a safe and non threatening environment, and are not subject to any physical or verbal abuse.

As a Club we fully support The FA's Respect Programme. By registering your child/ren with our Club you and your child/ren are expected to always abide by these Codes.
